Airport Transfers Terms & conditions

Owners In Portugal offers airport transfer services via our Portuguese Contractors. In the event that it suits their schedule we will sometimes provide a free upgrade to a higher vehicle specification. For this reason it is essential that you tell us in advance of any changes in passenger numbers & of any excess luggage carried.

1.We will try our utmost to provide the agreed service level when booked in advance. Sometimes due to last minute circumstances beyond our control ( For example when you are delayed on arrival or the airline changes the time of your departure after your arrival in Portugal) we may have to provide a lower service level. In this case the price charged will relate to the appropriate service level - No further compensation can be offered for this type of change. Companies we work with are fully licensed Travel Agencies , services must be pre booked and they are not street taxis. Their operating license prevents them from taking payment in the street and so you must pay when requested by the driver. Under the terms of Portuguese Travel Agency operating licenses it is not permitted to accept payments at Faro Airport and so any return journeys must be paid before setting out from your accommodation. We normally require a booking deposit of 15% ( minimum 20 euros) but we require our customers to pay all outstanding balances for the return journey on arrival at your accommodation. If we offer a concession of letting you pay everything in Portugal then this concession is on the understanding that a “no show”will result in us sending you a cancellation charge via the internet equal to the full return journey cost or at our sole discretion under exceptional circumstances we may offer a reduction in this charge or a credit against future services. A receipt can be provided for insurance purposes. A cancellation within 36 hours of your arrival date will result in us sending you a cancellation charge via the internet equal to the usual deposit for this journey. Again , if this happens a receipt can be provided for insurance purposes
2. Where a booking is made by telephone, e mail or fax the booking is subject to, and the client must accept these internet terms and conditions and by travelling in their vehicle they must accept any additional terms made by our suppliers.

3. Where two or more people are included on the same booking, the person requesting the booking shall be deemed to do so on the basis that he/she acts as an agent for all members of the party and accepts these booking conditions on behalf of each member of the party.
4. Owners In Portugal book travel for you on services provided by operators in Portugal. We do so as commission agents for the operator concerned whose own conditions of carriage will apply and our liability is confined to our own commission only.
5. The confirmation email is your booking reservation and travel voucher. This must be presented to the service providers driver or representative on both the outward and return trip. As we are not street taxis the receipts for each pre booked journey are normally held at the head office of each Travel Agency and the drivers do not carry and therefore cannot normally issue receipts on demand.
6. The number of passengers, destination and pick up addresses on your confirmation e mail ticket are the passenger numbers & address to which you will be delivered and picked up. Should you wish to change these or any other details, this must be done in writing within 48 hours of arrival. Any changes within 36 hours of arrival may not be possible and may be subject to an administration charge in addition to any additional costs. It is not possible to cancel return transfers once you have arrived although at our absolute discretion we may be able to offer a change of date or time- this may be subject to an administration charge but you would be advised of this at the time of making the change.
8. Customers are limited to two items of luggage including a golf bag. Any excess luggage must be declared at the time of booking. In the event of a client having excess luggage, we reserve the right to charge an excess baggage charge or refuse to transport the items. We will provide suitable child seats as long as they are booked in advance. Child seats vary here from those normally used in the UK, in particular we cannot guarantee the provision of rear facing seats or seats for very young babies and you should consider bringing your own if you are at all worried about this. It is your responsibility to ensure that we are given the correct ages for your children so that we can provide suitable seats. Our contractors reserve the right to refuse to transport children who have no seats reserved in advance and the full fees are payable in these circumstances. All children regardless of their age must be allocated a seat and children under 1.50 must use a booster seat and it is strictly forbidden for children to be carried on a lap or to share a seat. All passengers must wear the seat belts provided at all times. Failure to do so will result in you being given a heavy on the spot fine.

12. Operators will use every reasonable means to ensure that their vehicle(s) arrive on time and reach their destination on time. Time is not of the essence in any booking. In particular pick up times for departures back to the airport are normally subject to a 15 minute time window. Although we will do our utmost to help, if due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to meet you. It is still your responsibility to attempt to make alternative arrangements in order to ensure that you catch your return flight.
13) Although we always book through licensed operators. It is the passengers obligation to check that the vehicle provided is fully insured for passenger and third party claims, as required under Portuguese law. Also, whilst every care is always taken, customers' property is carried entirely at their own risk and no responsibility can be accepted for any loss or damage however caused. Customers are therefore advised to purchase & check their own travel insurance.
14. Owners In Portugal will endeavour to ensure that the operators carry the passenger with the minimum delay, discomfort or inconvenience to his/her destination shown on the confirmation document. However circumstances beyond our control may on occasions prevent this. The following are examples of ( but not all ) circumstances which are beyond our control:

In such cases their liability is usually limited to 1000 € euros per passenger but this varies from company to company. We cannot and do not accept liability on behalf of our suppliers and any claims should be made with them /their insurers and not ourselves and we will require you to claim via our suppliers insurance.Claims will only be accepted with full receipts and within 30 days of the occurrence. No claims will be accepted outside this period . You are further required to minimise and mitigate any loss . No claims beyond the cost of getting to your destination will be accepted without our prior consent or that of our insurers. This consent must be in writing for a claim to be valid. Most consequential loss claims are usually covered by normal holiday travel insurance and so under the terms of most of our suppliers you must hold and also claim from your own holiday travel insurance. Failure to hold such insurance may be considered to invalidate or reduce a consequential loss claim..
